Well I didn't git the OL nothing for Christmas or her birthday last week.
Got her to go for a ride today about 65 miles or so to a Cycle Gear.
Found a Shoei Neotec modular helmet.
She put it on her head and said it fit like a Glove.

Here it is with the Sun Visor up

Nice...If she wears sunglasses I hope she put them on and walked around for at least 20 minutes with them on...Most full face helmets feel the same to me for the first 10 minutes or so...Then the temple pain starts...I'm due for a new full face as mine is about 7 or 8 years old...Helmet construction has come along way over the last few years...I have a Scorpion EXO 100 for the warm weather...

She had a Nolan Modular Full Face helmet before the Shoei.

If I had the problem you did, I would find a cycle gear and go in and try the Helmet on. They give you 7 days to deceide if you like the helmet and if not you can trade it in on another.

Some helmets are made for Round heads, others are made for more of a egged shaped heads. If you have a Egg shaped head and get something like a Arai which is for a rounder head, its gonna bust the crown of your head open.
Other helmets are gonna be a little tight. And you have to break them in. And they conform to your head like a pair of new sunglasses on your face.
Don't let other people wear your everyday helmet.

The OL rode for over an Hour with it on.
Said it fit like a Glove.
I'm raising cain because they sell the helmet in Europe with a Buckle instead of D rings.
Talked to Shoei in the U.S. about getting one with a buckle.
She said it ain't gonna happen. D rings are safer.
I'd like to take the Buckle off her seat belt and put d rings on it.
I'm really pissed off that I can't get a buckle system from the factory so I can get a Shoei modular Neotec helmet.
I WILL NOT fight D rings. Even if they offered the helmet for 60% off list price.

CB, I to hate the D-rings and this is what I have on the helmet I wear every time I ride. Easy on easy off and has never came loose on me.

Marc55 I wear the same helmet. It's such a versatile helmet and have got caught in heavy rain storms with it, ask Maddog I could see and he couldn't with his half helmet with no shield. Love the ear pieces that that zips out of it. Love that dark drop down shield or you can put the clear one in for night riding. I hate wearing a full face helmet feels like my head and cheeks are all squeezed to tight.
This is like mine only I have the quick connect helmet lock.

Mabe, just maybe I can get the lady at Shoei North american job. She is not customer friendly.
And if they offer the helmet with Buckles in Europe, whats wrong with getting it like that here ?
I know a dude in England, and 2 dudes in Wales.
Might give them a call and see what they can get them for.

I'm looking at a Schuberth C3 Pro. It has a Buckle.
Visor that comes down and a whole lot of other features.

Got a BMW dealership in South Houston that is suppose to carry them. Might go down and try one on.
    Like modular helmets for summers.

Whatever it takes to have it my way.
I bought the OL a Shoei Borealis Neotec helmet.
How much do you think it cost ?

And do you know much about a HI Vis Helmet. If not watch this.
She is on the back of the bike.
Thinkin about the same helmet from The UK for myself.

Those Shoei helmets do fit amazing....tried on one at a show, wow, felt like a soft glove. Use a 3/4 helmet with clear shield and a pull down sun shield, great for cold weather with a polar fleece neck warmer. If you are riding vs passenger full face limits vision to me. Use a GMax half helmet most of the time, has pull down sun shield similar to what FLHT showed and has ear pieces .. but less profile.
Tried a Scorpian full face for winter, but after about 1 hour or so, pressure point on forehead hurts. Like CB said, different shapes for different heads, but no comparison of the Scorpian vs the Shoei.

I have worn Full Face and modular helmets for years.
You adapt to what is most versatile to you.
You have to learn how to use the Full face helmet.
Some full face offers a bigger view than others.
Some full face are made to be bent over like on a crotch rocket.
Others are made so the view is sitting up right,
Air flow on the different 2 helmets is affected by the sitting positions too.

And you get face protection if you are ever in a wreck.
With a 3/4 helmet if your chin hits whatever , you have no mouth protection.
Know it may not happen. But I have seen some bad bike wrecks and the face and mouth and head was really, really bad. Made me sick.
But I got the fire department to them to help.

The Full Face keeps all the sun off my face in the summer
While everybody else has sun screen on and is burnt. I'm sweating but no sun on my face.
I ride in the summer with the clear shield up.
Behind a windshield you can raise the front of the helmet and cool off some with the Hot air blowing on you.
    Or you can Spit.
In the winter when everybody has everything on and is cold.
I close the face shield and put the chin guard in and ride and my face or head is not cole.

If it rains I close the face shield and ride. Keeps the rain out of my face.

Guess you have to find what fits yer head and what you can live with.

But from when many, many years ago and dirt bikes.
Full face helmets are my friend.

I hate full face and modular helmets' way to constrictive and way less vision.
I also have the 3/4 HD helmet (basically a Shoe) with drop down clear Shield and a drop down dark shield for when the sun is bright. Very good helmet (Maddog wears one all the time) but still prefer my 1/2 helmet that I posted the picture of. In my helmet I also have a helmet headset installed. No, not the one Harley sells for the half helmet but one for a 3/4 helmet. It works very well.
Now I wear another 1/2 helmet just like the one I posted but without the headset for when I'm on my Springer.

Lots of fine helmets out there. Don't think I'll be wearing a modular one any time soon. Too expensive, bulky and heavy for my scrawny neck LOL. My Lick's 3/4 DOT approved weighs 1.8 lbs. It fit tight, so I shaved a little foam off here and there with a curved, serrated knife and it now fits like a glove. Can't tell I modified it. No pressure points anymore. To each his own . . .

    A shoei Neotec is lighweight.
And you have to get used to a Full face or Modular Full face.
The Neotec has a lot of air flow. And has a flip down sun visor that is high quality.
I have got more than 3 people who has never worn a Full face modular helmet.
And all 3 got used to them and don't want nothing else.
My OL being one of them. She rode her Sporty in traffic and rode on the rodes in the country and never once had a problem.
And I got grown Men on here saying I have a pencil neck and can't wear a FF Helmet.
And if you just say I can't wear one or I hate one.
You will never wear one or get used to them.
Want to know why. Cause you went and bought a 50.00 helmet.
And a Full face cheaper helmet tends to draft more wind than one that has been in a wind tunnel and designed to go threw the wind.

My Ol took the Modular Nolan off and put the Shoei Neotec on and the 1st thing she said is its so light. Then it fits like a glove. Its like its made just for my head.
Baby it ain't broke in yet. Shutup
When I showed her how to pull the sun visor down in front of her prescription glasses with the sun coming threw the door. She freaked out.

But you get used to what is light for you and what you like.
I was trying to show a super good helmet with a lot of good features.
