Going leg over is easiest with a short, and as long as it's wide enough they're comfortable. I had a stock RK backrest on my lowrider.

I had a quick disconnect on my 99 Roadking and a wider short pad, worked out good.

the way she sits in the saddle will determine height......is she taller or shorter. the pad height will determine how it feels to her.

I also changed the seat on the Roadking so the wife had a more comfortable seat to sit on.

Old School, put at least a 21" on with a good back pad for the passenger.
Sure makes something good to tie to when you need to tote something.
Had like a 23" on my 07 Wide Glide and my OL really, really loved laying against it.
