    Hi all,
Just doing a small project here. Changed to some Vance & Hines Dresser Dual head pipes. Just looking for opinions on muffler choice. I have a set of V&H Big Ovals from my previous ride, and the Cobra Tri Ovals that came on this one. Based just on looks, which ones do you prefer ? (Cobra on the left) Followed by pics of first the Cobra and the V&H mufflers side profile. I'll tell you which ones sound better later ! IMG_0563.JPG IMG_0587.JPG IMG_0576.JPG

I'd go with the ones that sound best, as I think they both look good.

Personally I like the V&H...I added the dual head pipes a few years ago...Pretty good on HP too if there is a good tunner in your neck of the woods to dial everything in correctly...

I take it that you will be choosing one of the two because you have them which makes sense. I personally run V&H on all my bikes and really like them and like the look of the V&H on your pic. I run the V&H 4 inch round pipes on my dresser and they sound really good and get great performance.
But like others it really is up to you what you like and what you feel sounds the best.

The V & H look more traditional, but I do like the split in the middle of the Cobras. I'd likely go V&H because I'm a traditional kind of guy, but it all comes down to sound and power. V&H are kind of like Flowmaster for cars, I have not heard a set yet I did not like.

    Cobras look different,
do you notice any power change with either?

I'd probably stick with the VH OVals

I'm going strictly by looks and sound now. Too damn cold to ride, and snow on the way tonight. Just by idle the V&H sound better, but they both have a nice bark when you crack the throttle. V&H a bit louder over all but not by much. Think I'm going to clamp down the V &H first, and ride it a bit this spring. Then try the Cobra's again. See if I get a better feeling for one over the other. Thanks for the response, I always like getting some other opinions.

That's the best way to do it, try em both and see which you like.

Agree, a true seat of your pants test is better than any dyno sheet or bragging numbers. Let us know which one wins.

I'll let you know next spring. It's 14 below and the roads are snow and ice covered . (it was 50 degrees 4 days ago) Guess it's time to put this thing back together,, do some cleaning, give it an oil change and cover it up for a few months. I'll flip the heat to the next stall and do some work on the old Plymouth next.

Thanks. I've been an old Mopar Guy even longer than the Harley thing. Two expensive summer only hobbies (well except for the fixin part). I've had old Mopars that would make you cry,,, (makes me cry to think about what I let get away LOL)
