Hello all it has been awhile since I have posted anything. I have decided that it is time that my Road Glide gets a new paint job. I have been looking around for a specific color in a specific type of paint but am having no luck so I am looking to use a different brand but have no experience with it.

Who here has used House of Kolors paint in specific their pearl colors? What d think of it in comparison to PPG?

Couldn't say, but in all my biker mags, many of the guys with custom bikes use House of Kolors paint. It looks great in the pictures.

One of the best in the country is up the road
you could send your stuff to them and get
just about anything you want done if you can think it
up they can paint it, I've seen Prevost buses come
out of there that are amazing...

House of Kolor is good stuff, very expensive.
Be sure you get someone in your area that's used it
and knows the application process, the more
exotic the mix the better they need to know their shidt.

Happy New Year, did yer keyboard just thaw out LOL

Contact them and see who uses it in your backyard..

Good stuff used it on my pro street monte carlo multi step process. But very expensive to paint a car .much cheaper to buy for a bike and well worth it. For my monte I had 4 grand in prep and paint materials wont do it again on a car.you can add pearls and metallic to any base colors and or clears johnny .you can buy any color base or clear coat and add any color pearls to it its done by weight .so if you ever have to repaint you know the mix grams amount in the mix. Hope this helps

Long time no hear! Hope all is well in Minn. Going with any custom airbrush work or just a uniform color? New tin set I assembled for the Sportser is in the process of going titanium flash mica over the next few weeks. I'm behind schedule, but under budget so far. Good luck with your project. Thought the new motor was getting built first?

I think you're right. I did that wih the Sportster. Looking at an interesting combo too. Looking at black pearl base with accents of metallic and either cherry pesrl flake or orange pearl flake. I used the PpG on the Sportster but am not impressed with the black.

JMO with HOK if you don't have the experience with the stuff it
can get dang expensive, their paint is big bucks compared to
normal stuff, you can screw up a couple of grand fast so get
someone that knows how to shoot it for ya...

I chatted with one of the painters that I may be interested in painting the Glide and we discussed what it is that I am looking for. I think what I may end up doing is taking the Ford Tuxedo Black, reduce the metallic by say 10-20% and then do what it is that I want from there. He also suggested a different kind of paint, especially if I want to do spray outs in a stepped fashion. The reason being for that is that this particular shop doesn't do a lot of work in HOK so they would have to order everything in to do the spray outs and that could get expensive. My plan is to do the spray outs in different kind of paint and us that as the model for the paint combination. I think that will help.

After looking a lot closer to the HOK paint line, I have decided that I am not going to go that rout. My reasoning is because that the HOK is just WAY WAY TOO BLINGGY for what I want or even like. I am going to a nearby city today that has a Nissan dealer and take a look at a color that they offer called Melbeck Black. It is a pearl metallic base and when you look at it, it has the cherry in it that I am looking for, but I will need to add more I am thinking, but before I do anything, I will have some spray outs done much like I did when I was deciding the Sportster colors.

I had mentioned that I possibly was going to go to a different painter than who I used for my Sportster and I did talk to different people but I found that I just really like the guy that did my Sportster and I am going to let him shoot the Glide's color. the last guy that I spoke to just did not seem very interested in what I am looking to do so I went back to a proven proven product.:cigar:

You had mentioned an interest in sharks, and you have a Roadglide? with a shark-esque front, why not paint the bike in a duller grey/metallic look. A bit more predatory, and less in your face maybe, but it might work.
