Hi guys, I have a 2008 Suzuki intruder 250cc I bought it around 6months ago. After 2 month I went on holidays for 3 weeks and when I came back, the bike wouldn't start (even though I unplugged the battery) the mechanic said he had to clean the carburettor and "put the diagram in place" I think he said.

2 months later (2 weeks ago) I left the bike in the garage for a week and now it's not starting again. I checked the battery and the starter like it says in the manual and everything looks good.

Do you guys think it's the carburettor again??

    What should I do??
    Thanks!!

I can't see a carb going bad in two weeks, or even fuel, unless the fuel
was very old to begin with.

I suspect that the battery isn't holding enough charge to
start the bike. Can you take it to an auto parts store, they
can do a full test to see if it's holding charge and creating enough
amps to turn the engine over.

Thanks for answering. I have charged the battery over night and test it myself but I'll take it to the store to get it tested again.

Does the bike turn over? and when you got it running did it run good, as far as fuel had get up and go, no backfiring or coughing of sputting just ran the way it should when running? also check all the grounds and cables make sure they are clean and making god contact.

    So the battery is good
you have lights, and when you press the
start button it turns over but doesn't start.

You could check the spark plugs for spark to be sure
    the ignition is functioning properly.

Pull a plug and ground it to the engine and crank it over
see if you are getting any spark. That way you can rule out spark.

You can rent a compression tester at most auto parts stores for
free, put down a deposit and then get it back when returned check all
cylinders see what the compression is for each.

One way of finding a problem is to eliminate things, which is the path
I'm suggesting since you just had the carb rebuilt.

Fuel, Fire and Compression you need all three.

One last thing, when you left did you set the fuel petcock to off?
if you did is it back On?, do you have plenty of fresh fuel? Is it low,
have you tried moving it to Reserve?

Need more information. What exactly do you mean it won't start?
Cranks but won't start and run?
    Won't turn over?

If it continuously cranks but won't catch (run) then I would start by checking for spark as HRK mentioned. However if it won't turn over despite having a good battery then you may have a corroded cable of poor ground.

There are probably a dozen more things but you'll need to provide more details to narrow it down.
