I'd be in the market for a side car that could be made to fit an 81 FLH. Some thing in the mid west would be preferable.

Sidecars require more than the car and mount, you have to change the rake of the front forks or you'll never be able to steer the dang thing.

They are an "acquired" ride, and you have to change your style, look cool but it's not simply bolt on and ride off like you are used to. When you get one on GO SLOW! at first and get used to it or you'll end up in a fence or field LOL

Champion sidecar has them. Put one on the wifes trike and made a huge difference in steering it.

I read about that in some of the websites I was looking at and fiqiured it in but have to get the sidecar first and see how much reworking I'm going to have to do before mounting.
My local mech is looking also and thinks he might have a lead on one in Ohio, but the guy is asking 5k for it; since it is a HD sidecar - plan on going over there this week to look at it and how much I would have to do to it to match the color and make sure all the parts are there. Didn't realize how hard it is to find one that will fit my year of bike - but was told it would work.

HD stopped production last year and it drove sales
of the remaining sidecar units through the roof.

Apparently the trike is the deal they believe
    is better for the market....
