Won't quit turning over

    putting back together a 1989 flh after doing the top end....when i press the starter button it continues to turn over i have to disconnect the battery cable to stop it.....i've tried a new solenoid and relay .....any suggestions would be apprecitated...

    check the spring on the pinion shaft.....i think it may be broken
