Actually you can steal a condo on any coast and live on the ocean or gulf right now.

Home prices all over are low, sucks as an owner lol

THe panhandle is like LA - Lower Alabama LOL nice
great beaches, easy to get up into the upper states.

Lakeland is land locked nice area close to tampa, lots of traffic on I4 goes through there
nice enough area though and access to all CFL area stuff..

I'd rent a place for a month in both areas then decide...

      Sarge7,
I'm getting a used CV carb from HarleysLR any day now. I'll be rebuilding it and going with the stage 1 upgrade from Ken. I've been advised that it will make starting the bike up for the first time a lot easier, especially a kick start. BTW, I noticed your location is NE Indiana. I was raised in Ohio, and lived there till the 60's.

If you PM kenfuzed he might be able to put you into a rebuild CV at a cost that would fit yer budget. As for smarts on these carbs(CV) - ken is the man.
And I agree on the tinkering - the new electronic stuff coming out amost makes one want to go back to college - just to understand the dern things.

      sarge7,
Thanks for the great reply. I'm going to try using the carb I have for a while, that is, once I finally get my bobber finished, hopefully in a few months. I haven't ridden in a long while and so the newer technology has passed me by. I am definitely not going with modules of any kind in my build; I don't understand them and they're mighty expensive to replace when they go south. And besides, Might sound crazy to some, but I don't mind tinkering with points, carbs, or whatever, even on the side of the road (unless it's raining!) To me, it has always been part of the price of admission I had to pay to be up on two wheels. Of course, if my Keihin turns out to be a real PIA, then I may consider an upgrade to the CV. At this time, however, I have to consider economics and a $300 carb ain't in the budget. Think I'd rather eat! joshbob
