06 Ultra Classic Cruise Control

    2006 ultra classic.
    Cruise control will not engage. Light turns from red to green but it doesn't engage. Figured maybe the free play was to tight in the cable. Adjusted it for correct amount of free play but when I start the bike and ride the free play tightens up. Are these problems related?? Any ideas??
