HAD A GUY COME BY YESTERDAY TO BUY MY SISSY BAR BRACKETS, HE WAS RIDE'N A BRAND NEW 08 1200 LOW, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS BUT UGLY, BUT I STARTED INVESTIGATING ALL THE DIFFERN'T THINGS THAT HAD BEEN CHANGED SINCE MY MODEL, THE FRAME WAS WHAT I NOTICED FIRST, HOW THE FRAME DOUBLED UP FOR THE FRONT PIPE SUPPORT, LOOKED LIKE A REAL HEAVY DUTY FRAME RECONSTRUCTION, GUY TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE THE REAR TIRE WAS BIGGER:roflmao: LOOKED BASICLY LIKE THE OLD STYLE BEEFED UP TO LOOK BIGGER, NOW THAT I AM USED TO MY 8 OVER WG, I WAS LOOKING AT THE FRONT END AND I SWEAR THAT IF HE HIT A BIG ENOUGH BUMP IT WOULD SUCK UNDER:roflmao: BUT ALL IN ALL I WASN'T INPRESSED WITH THE CHANGES, I THINK IT LOOKED ALOT BETTER WITH THE OLD STYLE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICER IF THEY WOULD HAVE JUST LEFT SOME OF THE STUFF ALONE, THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING LIKE TAKE THE OLD STYLE AND DO THE REAR TIRE, RUBBER MOUNT, AND THE COOLING FINS, THAT WOULD LOOK PRETTY NICE, BEING A SPORTSTER GUY, I'M NOT IMPRESSED,JMO I THINK IT KINDA HAD A HONDA SHADOW LOOK TO IT, GUESS I NEED TO PAY A LITTLE MORE ATTENTION WHILE I'M AT THE DEALER. SO ALL YOU SPORTSTER GUYS DON'T THINK I'M BASHIN ON YOUR BIKE, BECAUSE WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU, MAY NOT BE FOR OTHERS. JUST GIVING SOME OF MY THOUGHTS ON THE 08.

Hey SporteterBoy, a co-worker of mine is waiting on his XLH1200L. He doesn't have a liscence so asked me to pick it up for him. I was looking foward to taking a newer Sporty for a run, my old one is a '91 XLH1200(Sleeper Bike) routinely eats BT's and CVO SE models, which is loads of fun to do.
So your telling me the new Sportys are heavier, slower, and butt ugly. I'll give you a comparison of what I think about the "new" Sporty's when I deliver it to him.
BTW did you give your Shop Manual to the guy that came for your backrest:roflmao::roflmao: :roflmao:

Naw Just Ugly And Bulky Looking, Can't Say Anything On The Performence, I'm Sure That's Still There. Just Seems To Be Loosing That Sporty Look, And More Into Something Like A Dyna Lowrider, Almost Is If They Are Try'n To Give It The Bt Apeal For A Cheaper Price. Marketing And Sales You Know How It Goes. I Rode A V-rod Back When I Got Mine In O3, Great Performance, But Was Like Ride'n A Honda Vtx 1800, Just Didn't Have The Harley Persona, Nother Marketing Stratagy, Would Like To Get The Motor And Put It In A Ridgid, Don't Really Think It Needed All That Funky Frame Modification, Surprized I Haven't Seen Or Heard Of Anyone Doing It, But I Bet We Will, I'm Good For That One, Coming Up With A Idiea And A Few Years Later Someone Does It, Still Watchin For A Wide 300 Rigid For A Sporty, But I Think The Wide Tire Kits Are Way To Big And Over Priced, I Wish You Could Buy The Drive Pulley Seperate, Building A New Swing Arm Would Be Easy, But I Saw One That Had Been Done And Once Agian Diddn't Look Right, A 200 Would Be As Far As I Would Want To Go. Well Let Us Know How The Ride Goes.
