11' 6" bridge

    Yep, that's a tough bridge but here is a picture of the design of dozens of bridges here on Long Island. These were placed on our "Parkways". We have several Parkways that were designed in the 50's for auto traffic to and from the state parks (Hence "Parkways" on Long Island for the NYC folk. The intention was auto traffic. unfortunatley (for truckers) these parkways connect with major highways and interstates. Although they are marked with big signs saying low bridges and no commercial vehicles, many times truckers just pass the signs and end up under these very very low GRANITE bridges. This happens all the time here. There are no traffic cams to record it. But I offer that these are the Worlds Toughest Bridges since noe have never had to be repaired.
