We got a buddy that has a S&S 124 and he's always complainin about this or that.
He asked my buddy to come over and change his jets out so his bike would run better. So my buddy gits over and is takin the carb apart.
He pulls spark plugs out and is puttin some new ones in and says these plugs I bought is pregapped.
    What !
    They are pregapped.
Wait give me some feeler guages and let me check them.
He checked them and they are pregapped at 24 thousands.
Checked the old plugs and they was 24 thousands. WTF Bill
Put the carb back together without doing anything.
Checked the book and it said 38-42 thousands so he sets them to 40 thousands and says go ride the bike and call me.
    WTF 24 thousands on a plug.:banghead:

What plugs SNS recommends Motorcraft plugs in the 124
ran them without a problem, although I can't remember WTF the number
is. LOL .38 to .40 sounds right.

BTW they tell you to ALWAYS check the gap on plugs
when you install them. Never trust the factory and
some builders call for different gaps

Yep the Super G is a gas hog when it's setup wrong
and even when it's setup right LOL

Find out if it's got the internal or external air bleed that
is adjustable, if you don't see a jet on the back side of the carb
then drop the bowl, there is a small hole in the carb
which determines when the carb moves off the pilot,
if it's wrong the carb will move to the main early and
bam bad gas mileage. If it does have the internal jet in the body
inside the bowl he might try changing it to let the main
come on later, if he's running a big enough pilot it will
take him easily down the road.

A thunderjet helps too with transition on fuel giving a third
circuit up high so he can run a smaller main (no needle on SNS)
giving better mileage when he's on the main.

Generally people are way too rich on SNS and G's are thirsty to
begin with due to the 8000 year old design LOL

He can get mid to upper thirtys, needs to have it tuned
and it should have a thunderjet, if he can't stay out
of the throttle low 30's are easy to get, and a shidt load of
    fun. Expensive on rear tires.

Tell him to get with bobby woods, get a Rebel 505 and
a CV intake and put the CV 505 rebel on it, bike will
run better, get better mileage and make a smoother power
curve, also when riding it will feel like it's an EFI bike
it's so much better than the G...

Sell the G to JB for his 95 inch project, bigger is better!

This guy likes to let you git a mile ahead and twist the throttle and wind it up over 100 mph.
He dogs the bike all the time.
Sometimes he blast off so hard that you don't even know where he went.
He's over 65 and hes a retired High School Football coach.

He ain't gonna listen to much.
Bill is like talkin to a Bull. Just let him do his own thing.
If he ask for help go see what is wrong and see if you can help him

Only problems I had with the 124 was keeping rubber
on the rear tire and transmissions to last LOL

depending on what compresion is being run,.025 -.030 would be used.usually not in a street application, but on our pro gas bikes we ran .028 (high compresion will actully "blow" the spark out with bigger gaps)
