My son bought his first bike, a 1982 Honda CM250 for getting around town. The bike only has $13,000 miles on it and runs great. However, the front brakes are almost impossible to squeeze. I am not good with brakes and don't know if it is a crimped brake cable or what the issue is. Should I start by replacing the cable or what suggestions do you have? Thanks!!!

if it has drum brakes up front , yes you can lube the cable , two you can pull the front wheel & make sure the shoes move when you pull the lever , sometime they get a build up of road dirt or rust from setting to long
