    Hey everyone, newb here..

Any other Honda Shadow Riders around? I have a basket case 86 VT1100C.. It's been a major pain in my ass since day one (tons of details in my signature..)

currently I've got to go check on it again because I must have a crossed wire somewhere causing my battery to heat up..

anyway, I'm sure i'll be around a bit more..

Had a 85 Shadow 750 back in the day, and wife started out on a 2001 Shadow 600 for her biking time. Honda makes a nice reliable ride, yours sounds like it needs some lovin.

haha, it needs someone who knows what the hell they are doin..

I've heard the 86 was a great year because it was one of the highest Compression Ratio's and just an all around strong as hell engine, but I've never even gotten this thing to fire up..

welcome ,& I haven't read your build yet , But first have to ask do you have the factory service manual? it will have the wiring in the back , all it takes it elec gas & air to make them run then adjustments after that , double check your wires to the battery if it's getting hot

OE factory service manual is the best investment you can buy if keeping your bike awhile. I have the factory Ford manuals for my car and will be ordering a Sportster one before I disassemble my bike this winter. I buy one for all my vehicles.
