I have a 1988 FLHTC with 16000 miles on it. When going down the road at 70 mph it will start cutting out like a car without fuel. Go back to 60 mph runs fine. I have replaced pet ****, gas cap, spark plugs, intake gausket and rebuilt carb. Also sitting at a stop sign when you give it throttle it will some times backfire. Suggestions

    Some questions:

If you shift down to 4th will it accelerate?
    What exhaust is on it?
    Engine mods?
    Stock ignition box?
Have you disconnected the VOES switch to test?

Have you checked the fuel cap for venting?
    Float level have any effect?

Is this a new bike to you or a new problem entirely?
