I have a friend, not computer literate, that bought a 2005 Dyna Wide-Glide. Right now it's got some kind of leather soft bags and he wants to put hard bags on it, but they have to look like they were made for the bike, nothing that is "cobbed" together. Has anyone done this? What's available for that bike?
    Thanks,
    Snyde

I had a 07 WG. Looked everywhere for some throw over saddlebags.
Got some Leather saddle bags from Drag Specialities. They collaspe when you buckle them tight and expand when you put yer leather jacket in them.
I put some felt under the bottom of the bags where you throw them over the fender.
They looked great to me. And served a dang good purpose.

Sold them to a buddy who has a 06 WG.

I have some brackets that bolt onto the axle , has a roller to hold the bags off the wheel. and some other brakets too.
    Both are band new.

He's got a pair of soft bags on there now and he wants to get rid of them and go with hard ones. He wants to find something that looks like it was made for the bike though. I saw some Mutazu bags on eBay that looked pretty good.
    Thanks,
    Snyde

Yep, it wouldn't be my choice either. The bags he's got are some kind of leather with brackets that make the bags stick way out. You can see a big gap between the bags and the fender, really ugly. The guy's been into the auto body business for 35 years or so, so I think he's thinking of maybe getting some bags, like the ones on the other link you sent, and painting the bike real pretty. He's only had the bike about a month or so.
    Thanks,
    Snyde

Here is the 07 WG I had with the Drag Specialities Leather Throw over bags I had on it.
This was the fastest bike I've ever owned.

That looks nice on that bike. Here it is I called the bike a Dyna Wide Glide when it's actually a Dyna SUPER Glide. My attention to detail, not what it used to be.

If you are looking for hardbags for your friend, there is a place in New York that makes stuff like this especially for him. The place is called Sumax. I have done some business with them and their craftsmanship and service is TOP NOTCH!! Here is their link to there site. Tiy will need to look for their glass bags or composite bags. If you look around at the fenders, you will see JohnnyBikers Sportster on their website.. I hope this helps steer you in the right direction. Sumax - Demand the Best!

P.S. IF you click on the picture that says Composit Fiber Glass Saddle Bags, once it is loaded and scroll down a little, hey guess what, a Wide Glide with hard bags on it...
