Recently purchased a 2005 15th Anniversary Fat Boy, 95 cu in engine. Although I know that the Screaming Eagle Slip on Mufflers are not stock, does anyone out there know if the Free Flowing Air Cleaner that I have IS stock? The cover is football shaped and says "Fat Boy" , "95 Cu In." the back is wide open and the filter is a K&N type.
The bike also has a V&H Fuel Pack which I also know isn't stock. Just wondering whether Harley provided the free flowing filter as stock on this bike.

Take off the A/C cover and see what kind of air cleaner it is and what it is made from. Stock was a white paper looking material and the SE is like a hard mesh.

It's the mesh kind which I have been told is the SE one. BUT, did it come stock on the 15th Anniversary Fat Boy? I can't seem to get the answer. Since it's an Anniversary Model, is it safe to think that like other Anniversary HD's, it came with the SE filter.??
What prompts me to write and ask is I think that the V&H FuelPack is not tuned correctly and Im having problems getting a map from V&H that works.

Did the bike come with the 95 inch from the factory or was that a built motor. Whether or not it sounds like a SE type filter or K&N Filter.

Google is your friend..:D SE breather kit appears to be an add on along with the SE mufflers and V&H fuel pak.

    The 15th Anniversary Fat Boy...

2005 Harley Davidson Flstfi Fat Boy Rear Right
The 15th Anniversary Fat Boy is the first standard-production Harley motorcycle with the 1550cc engine.

Before low-carb diets, there was the first Fat Boy. For 15 years, the plumpest member of the Softail family has ridden at or near the top of the list of America's favorite motorcycles. Now Harley celebrates the fact that you can't be too rich or too fat with a special version of the Fat Boy and has bulked up the engine to 1550cc. This first full-production Harley to use that displacement, though we speculate that it will be more widely deployed in the future, considering that most of Harley's competitors' big twins are 1500cc or more, making its current 1450cc seem diminutive, even though it out-performs many bigger V-twins. Fuel-injection is the only intake option on the anniversary Fat Boy.

The rest of the changes are mostly cosmetic. There is a new seat, chrome on the signature disc wheels and gold striping on air cleaner cover, timer cover and ignition switch plate. A 24K gold-plated tank emblem completes the anniversary treatment.

There it is again; "Google" one of these days I'll get with the 21st century entirely and think "Google" before anything else!
Thanks "Lucifer". I hope your response didn't cost me my soul! LOL.
Now I know that the stock programing didn't include the breather. My hope lies with V&H for eventually getting me a program map that works well. So far no luck with them.:banghead:

I would bet the cover is stock but the filter was added

Part of the function of the "black plastic" backer box on the air filter is sound reduction for EPA...

Open back = SE...more power more air..

From what I've read about other's using V&H Fuelpak, seems most have a hard time getting a good map...especially if they aren't using V&H pipes, you'd prolly be better off with a "pot "style fueler like the TFI and you can tinker with "jetting" or better yet a PCIII. Good Luck:devil:
