I posted in a different thread, got one ( good) reply. I would like to make this bike a non-California type. Meaning pipes, the bike is Fuel injected what do I have to do when I change to Vance and Hines pipes? I was told the bike has a charcoal canister can it be removed with no adverse effect on the engine? I appreciate all responses.

Yes it can be removed but will not hurt anything on their just make sure you put a plug on the throttle body where the line goes on there or you will have a vacuum leak Todd

Don't have Fi on my bike, but nI've noticed that those who do swear by getting a PCIII (Power Commander III). I guess it is fairly easy to manipulate to dial in to whatever you're bike has as far as exhaust, and air cleaner action. I imagine those folks who have experience will jump on in quickley. Just be patient and hang on dude...:)

oh and to answer your other question, if you just add pipes you dont have to do anything but if you add pipes and and air cleaner then you neede some sort of fuel management, such as sert, pc3, thundermax, fuel pack, cobra fi2000, dtt and the list goes on. Todd

I would not remove the hard line from the canister, put one of the small chrome filters on the end replacing the canister, on the other end, cut back the pipe and run a hose to the engine head breather tube, now you'll have bypassed the re-breather that sucks oil and air out of the motor back into the intake.

You can get these little hose filters at any Hd indy shop they'll just plug right into a 5/16 or 3/8 hose, put on a small band clamp to holt it there.
