I guess this is mostly directed at anyone in Canada or France. I'm betting HD did a French version of the 2007 range Smart Security System operation card. If so, I'm after one, so the loaders in Calais can turn off the alarm and I don't have a flat battery the following morning when the train arrives in Frejus (near Nice). If anyone here can help it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    No french

Sorry ashley just checked my owners manual and found an extra english card but not a french version card. The card only gives instruction on entering your code or how to turn on service/transport mode but that requires the key fob. Are you looking for instruction on manually turning on transport mode? Let me know what you need and I can get it translated to french for you but would be our Canadian french not the real french might be a little different but should work.

    Thanks

French Motorail insist on loading bikes with their staff. It is well possible that if in Calais I hand an SNCF staff member the fob a card to set Transport mode in English this will be treated with "Je ne comprend pas" or whatever, and in the morning I'll have a flat battery.

I can get a translation done easy enough, but thanks for the offer. Much appreciated.

I think I'll try phoning a few dealerships in France and asking. That HOG membership must be worth something. And well, worst case scenario, loiter near the bike, let them load it, walk onto the vehicle deck and set it to transport mode myself. I might get shouted at, I'll pretend I don't understand any French.

what would happen if you put a quick connector in the line to the siren/horn, what ever is going off???? then reconnect it when you want it????? just an ol'school thought here. if the horn doesnt blow, no drain on the battery.......

Had occurred to me. It would probably invalidate my insurance, which would be the major issue.
