I just installed a PC5 and Vance and Hines short shot pipes and a black spike intake. My exhaust pops and back fires sometimes when I let off the throttle is this normal or could I need a new map for my pc5? Also I have lost some low end torque since changing my pipes due to the loss of back pressure I heard that a washer in the pipes would help does anyone know any other tricks....

If your not running baffles you need to get some , I like the big city thunder they make a up dated & much better set up then just the bolt/ washer trick , also double check the washer/gasket where the pipes go into the heads

You have the same problem most folks have when a short open pipe is used. The short open pipes are called drag pipes because thats the only time they preform ok. At wide open throttle, such as drag racing, thus the name drag pipes. Adding a baffel or the washer fix will help bring the usable power back down to an rpm that you can use on the street.
