Don't know the colors but I do know the RG will be a custom again like 09
It's a great looking bike but no tour pack, no heated grips, no heated seat etc...

I would rather have all the amenities that the CVO Ultra or CVO Roadglide offer.

Interesting to is that all touring models will come with a oil cooler and a automatic compression release hmmm

From HD: 2012 Touring: The Legend Rolls On
For 2012, all eight Harley-Davidson Touring models are powered by a Twin Cam 103 engine with Automatic Compression Release and integrated oil cooler. Producing 102 ft. lbs. of peak torque at 3500 rpm, the Twin Cam 103 provides outstanding performance around town and on the open road. All Touring models also feature the 6-Speed Cruise Drive transmission, 41.3 mm telescopic front forks, air-adjustable rear shocks and an Isolated Drive System for smooth power delivery. The Harley-Davidson Touring chassis has a single-spar, rigid backbone frame and two-piece swingarm designed to deliver responsive maneuverability and long-haul durability. Chassis geometry and suspension are calibrated to deliver confident handling and comfort.

They have to address the heat issue, these bigger
engines have more fin area and thus more heat is dissipated
from an already hot lean engine.

Maybe that's why the poor fuel mileage when I had it Dyno tuned at an HD dealer. More fuel to help with cooling. On my map the fuel percentage was reading low 13's and I know they should be up around 13.5 to 13.8% which may be making them to lean for the 103 engine.

Partially, most tuners, will err on the side of rich, because all it will cause is
lower fuel mileage and cooler engine, you go to lean and you can hurt engines.

That map you had could have been tweaked to get you into the low 50's high 40's for
light cruising speeds around 65 MPH

I got as high as 50 on my 09 cruising backroads here at 55 MPH one cool
fall day, then again hills are not a factor...

Just another reason why I hate fuel injection. Can fatten up the mix without buying a PC or dumb TM...:D JMO

I think that I am going to suggest to my buddy that he waits to buy until the 012's are released.

Johnny I used to think that way but go out there and tune that carb, I want you to set a specific AFR from 2300 to 2700 at 15% throttle and while you're at it I want you to set the timing curve to a specific advance for lean operation to achieve 50 MPG, also when you change that jet, dumping fuel all over you, and cuss as you lay on the ground pulling the bowl to get to the pilot jet too, don't forget to get a new gasket, and while you're at it set the spark retard in that range to allow max advance and no detonation.

Then do it for every RPM at every throttle position for max power or economy...

whoops cant do it with a carb.....LOL

Carbs are fine, cool, idle good but they are antiques when it comes
    to fuel management.

I'll just hook up my laptop, fire up a cigar, sit back, make some changes,
drop the laptop in the bag, go for a ride, record some data, check the changes
and not get my fingers covered in fuel and grit...

I am not in the market for a brand new bike. But my buddy is looking at the 011 RG. He has a tendency to take forever. I don't understand why he is looking for another bike anyways as he never rides, then to want a touring bike as well.:wtf: His 06 which he bought brand new still has only just under 8k on it.. And he poses himself as a big bad biker dude. :gah: Shoot, with my wifes bike and mine combined I have about 8,500 on in that is just in about one riding season.

I average more than that in a year and don't feel I'm a big bad biker dude but just a guy who loves his Harley and loves to ride.
