Hey Chucktx, could those frames accept a larger displacement engine or is that about it?? A 74"?

if ya stay within the range of the era, should be no problems. a lot of 80's were put in those frames... that said, as with any hp upgrade, steps need to be taken to prevent failure of other parts.......

I would really like that set up without the engine though, even though that is what my bike is stock as far as displacement is concerned. Has a springer, looks like I could put a seat that is dropped really nice into the bike. Way Cool!!!

JB, go out and find you 01-04 Heritage Springer and you will be very close to what you want. I put a 95 kit in mine with a new cam and rebuilt the carb with Ken's kit. Run strong and is a great bike.

If I had the extra cash that would be a really fun project. I think I would leave it as a pan head.

Most likely I would to because it is a Sportster engine. I like Sportsters!! Do you??? :roflmao::roflmao:

But I would no way in hell put that seat on. I would put the springer on, a nice set of apes, also put electric start, upgrade to a five speed and call it good.

No JB, don't care for Sporsters but you already knew that. Just to small for me.
I like the feel of a big heavy bike, just me. :)

    I'd love to build a sporster - chopper - kicker - hardtail - springer.

I like the way this one is set up but I don't know if I want EXACTLY the same. For instance, this one's got way too much chrome and I'd wrap the pipes cause I like that look (stolen from another thread :D).

    this one.

    PANHEAD CHOPPER KIT BIKE

    PANHEAD CHOPPER KIT BIKE 2

I like the tank, it's bigger than the sporster peanut. I would rather have the pipes come together/shorter and I'd get rid of the passanger seat, a little less chrome, wrapped pipes and the tins painted black and all for $12 to 15k

if I wanted that look and feel I'd just get a crossbones and hit the starter and be rolling down the road.
Way to old to kick start anything and butt to tired to take the ruff ride. JMO

I like that look myself, but for this style, I would have to agree that there is just way too much chrome on it. I think that I have decided that my next bike is going to be a springer for sure. Either that Cross Bones or a different springer that I found. I guess I will have to wait and see. :banghead:
