great, fridge dead and its only maybe 5 years old. Repair or replace? That is the qustion. Is it nobler to repair or chuck the bitch and get a new one. Good thing its time to buy groceries so theres not alot to worry about. But who needs the grief? And good thing its labor day weekend too.

Depends on what's wrong, mine in the garage died, googled the model and faults for it found that a circuit board was typical culprit, bought one for $50 online, one connector and a few screws and it fired back up.

$50 was less than service call so wth?

I guess i'll look into repairing it as a circuit board is cheaper then a new fridge.

Thanks for the web site HRK. went to the freezer, noticed the freezer fan wasn't spinning. Freezer provides coolness to the fridge.

My son, who just moved back home keeps leaving the freezer door open, consequently ice crystals have formed. They were clogging the fan. I rapped the fan cover a couple times breaking up the ice and the fan started.

I was leaving for work so i don't know if its working. When i come home i'll unplug the freezer, pull off the fan guard and clean out the ice. Might defrost the fridge too? Needs it.

Son f'ing ahole. Since he's moved back its been one thing after another. I may have to ask him to leave. Be an assett or be gone. We've had the pleasant, understanding and very civil talk a couple times already since he's been home?

Most appliances are made by one or two companies now and they slap all the other logos on them.

if evap coil is froze up and it a frost free fridge. then issue is the defrost system, Defrost timer the likely culprit. but could be the heater or termination t-stat, thaw it out and if it freezes up again in a few weeks its a problem with the defrost system

Mine keeps freezing the drain tube up in the freezer section, then the water backs up and drains onto the milk and butter containers on the top shelf in the fridge.
The wife has a habit of overpacking the freezer, which means the fan does not ventilate, and this is when it seems to occur. Trying to decide on a new fridge or wife. Fridge is pretty pricey...

check your drain line, probably stopped up. Should not be water in it to freeze during normal operation. If it can't drain water freezes in it and drain pan during defrost cycle.

Drain line seems ok, flows fine once I melt the ice in the frozen over tray that empties into the drain tube. Only an issue when the fan in freezer is restricted by objects.
