Harley did pos t a service bulletin in 09 stating that the 07-09 six speeds omitted a clip behind the inner race and bearin that often, when torquing the clutch basket, the race went in too far, thus causing the bearing to not ride on the race. The service bulletin called for replacement of the main shaft transmission and provided a replacement kit including new mains hart, bearings and gaskets.

It sure would have made for better public relations.
They probably only fixed em if they broke under warranty and after that made money on them.

Hmmm, Charlie46 you read this? I think you may have been "shafted" (pun) by the motor comp.

Well, It started out with a bad pushrod(throwout) bearing. After the trans blew, because of mistake in assembly by my indy, my indy did say one of the gears(that was broken) had to be replaced by a different style gear/shaft assmbly. I didn't pay for it so I didn't give it much ado. Probably was what CB & HRK are talking about. Any way I've got a good 20k + trouble free miles on it:D:cool:
