Anyone ever heard of someone coverting the breakerless system to points on a 79 Sportster XLH? My bike was coverted I am told so do I assume the plugs and gap should follow a 78 or stick with 79 spec's and set the points up as a 78?

    Thanks.
I saw another post where someone mentioned the spark plug gap should be .040 for electronic ignition and .025 for points. Should I set my plug gap for .025? Right now they are set at .040.

I use a piece of Coke/Pepsi can it works in a pinch and can be found on the side of the road or in a trash can.

Now adays a thick business card will do the same & fold it in half for the plugs
