Today is the first day of my 'out processing'. I have 2 stops left that are mandatory...and I can't do them until Monday.... I needed to go find a place to get the bearings on my trailer packed...I have NO tools, so can not do it myself...kinda sux. Wife is in MT with daughter and both dogs.....bit lonely around the apartment. Can't wait to pull out of town on Tuesday! Looked for bearing packing today, and was unsuccessful.

so, never did find anyone to do the wheel bearing packing.....SO, went to the base auto hobby shop. Did it myself with a bit of coaching from a mechanic that is on duty there. Got them packed!! NOW I can travel happy.

After I take a shower and putter a bit I will start packing what little bit is left in the apartment into boxes getting ready for travel.

Having PCS'd 14 times in 27 years in (wow, I never counted them all out until just now), I know that feeling well. Always a combo of excitement and melancholy. I sure don't miss the packing out, though.

Have a safe and successful move.

Now am trying to figure out my ground clearance from the bottom frame...think I am going to block the frame so I can cinch the bike tighter but against the blocks rather then blowing the fork seals....need to get some wood, but don't know how thick..... oops! THEN I need to verify the wheel size for the trailer.....and see if I can get one of those wheels already mounted on a rim for a spare. Don't want to travel 2K miles without a spare!

I also found out today that my max household goods allowance was 14,500 pounds.....I weighed in at 14,020. SO, I need to weigh the truck/trailer empty then after loading so I can do some Ditty Move....will help offset the cost of the trailer/pulling a trailer! 480 pounds of ditty isn't much, but it will help!

I actually got REALLY lucky.....was walking out of the garage checking the trailer tire so I could go buy a spare.....there was a guy throwing WOOD away at the dumpster...I walk up and asking if he is actually just throwing that stuff away!! he said "yup!" I snagged some smaller chunks of 2x6, a LONG (2 ft or just a bit over) of 2x6 and a 3 ft length of 4x4!!! I tested it under the bike and looks about right!!!! NOW need to figure out how to cut the 4x4 in half......leave the long 2x6 alone so it will span at least 2 trailer cross members...... I'll get that 4x4 cut and I will be in great shape!
