    Hello All;
    I need some serious advice on how to proceed. I have a 1980 KZ650 F-1. While adjusting my clutch (I had my son helping me) I went to the bathroom and when I came back he had removed the clutch pushrod. I have the manual for my bike and under "Clutch Release Mechanisim" step 6 states "remove the Clutch Pushrod which is also step 6 for instillation. Now when I look farther down in the book it says under "Shifting Mechanisim External" step 3 remove the clutch pushrod then in small print 6 steps farther along it says "do not remove the clutch pushrod more than 1.5" or the internal shift forks will fall into the crankcase into the oilpan requiring disassembly of the engine to reposition them." Step 6 under the first heading says nothing about these items falling in to the crankcase. I am very confused and do not know how to proceed. Really dont want to crack the case but will if I absolutly have too. All I wanted to do was replace the head gaskets and adjust the clutch now I think Im :cussing:

    i would put it back as the first part of the book states,,,,,,,pull the plugs, jack the rearwheel up, put it in a high gear and rotate the engine/transmission. check for shifting. if it shifts ok, then use the starter to turn it and shift it. your correct, the book does seem confusing.......aint little helpers great!!!!!!!!! wouldnt mind having one in my shop! let us know how it goes..............
