Hi there, I wonder if I could possibly get some help and advice please.

My bike is a 2006 883 converted to a 1200, it has an open air filter and a pair of screamin egale 2's fitted. The kit my dealer ordered for me was a "CVP basic tuners kit 1200-2" which says it is for a 04-06 xl1200. I am wondering if I have the correct kit or not for my bike?

The reason I ask is that it is not running very well, I have the 46idle and 185 main jets installed along with the replacement needle and I the slide modification using the 7/64 drill bit. It is coughing off idle and before I look into it in too much detail I was wondering if I have the correct kit installed or not?

    thanks

    Henry

Hi Henry, no you have the wrong kit. The 2004-2006 1200 used different heads similar to Buell XB heads so the needle and jetting is different. A 883 converted to a 1200 breathes differently and uses the same needle as the 883.

Your jetting is probably too rich so drop a jet size to 45/180 (that came in the kit). Send me a private message with your address and I will send you the correct needle.
