    burning oil on my 96 evo

    I've got a 96 roadking with 34k on it . i,m burning oil ,2 qts on just 1000k of riding ,what else shall I look for , besides checking compression .

    Do a leak down that will tell you if it's rings or valves or both. If that checks ok then valve stem seals may be the problem and if you are still running stock air filter and backing plate the umbrella valves in the rocker boxes may be letting oil through the breather into the carb and burning it.
