Must sell the wideglide:(, the sliders are in terrible shape. Aluminum is a bad choice for close to road gear:banghead:. Any suggestions on the best (and cheapest way to fix this problem Harley dealer tells me slider covers are no longer available for that year:fight:. If I pay to have them polished like chrome how do you beat the aluminum corrosion:rolleyes:.

I powdercoated mine semi-gloss black, but there are plenty of choices for color. Even the "chrome" powdercoating looks good, although it doesn't really look like chrome. Shouldn't cost much, I did my own at work for free, so I don't know what the going price is.

take them off, lowers and uppers,
go to home despot or lowes
get a can of high gloss black pro enamel, whatever color you want if not black
then get some 100 and 200 and fine sanding sponges

Get some clearcoat remover for the lowers
    get clearcoat off
    sand lowers and uppers
Paint with enamel, let bake in sun or heat lamp

    $10 lower fix....

Did mine on the bike, removed front wheel, brake calipers and fender
got a cheap plastic drop cloth, poked holes for the forks, slid it up and taped
with painters tape, covered the bike and got er dun in a weekend.
