I saw this being advertised in the Sept issue of Thunder Press. I can't believe somebody would install something as ugly on their bike as that but hey each to there own. Check it out?

This is tells the story right here... lol from the FAQ 's:

"Where can I purchase The Helmet Handler?"

"The Helmet Handler is currently available at these independently-owned Harley-Davidson dealerships:

    •TBD
Is your favorite dealer not listed? Ask your dealership to carry The Helmet Handler."

(No dealers listed!! haha... now everybody be sure to ask your dealer to stock the helmet handler! and keep a straight face while doing it..!!)

Wow. I can't believe someone felt that was worth making or that the person was encouraged by anyone to market that idea.

If I wear a helmet, I put it on the ground next to my bike. Never been an issue.

Makes me leery of looking at some of Windy Wheels other "accessories". Might be good for a laugh, though!

It's not so bad. There's a lot you can do with this.
You could hang flags off em.
You might get some down force at 60 mph.
You could hook up Direct TV and maybe get a couple o channels.
Ifin you lived in Mexico.... a couple o extra seats for the kids...

Lots o stuff. You guys are so closed minded :roflmao:

I thought they also kind of looked dangerous, especially for a passenger on a softail. I just put mine in the top trunk and lock it up. Harley sells a helmet holder that attaches to the rails either on the hard-bags or I've seen em on the crashbars/engine guards. That works great to. But those things are scary looking. I'm with you Josh makes me wonder about other stuff they might sell.

If you guys want to see some funny (read: frivolous) accessories, thumb thru a J.C. Whitney biker catalog. Haven't seen one lately, but I'd bet they have the Helmet Handler. Or something even worse, if that's possible.
When I rode before, I would either hang the thing off the handlebars or carry it with me whenever I stopped. Speaking of helmets, I remember the controversy (back in the day) when helmet laws were beginning to be enforced. It was the insurance company lobbies that pressured lawmakers to pass those laws. I remember the argument that many high speed accidents that killed a biker were because of broken necks because of the weight of the helmets. Either way (they said), you're gonna die, so why wear one?

Yea, I'll bet they try and sell it to JC Whitney :roflmao:
As to wearing a helmet, we wore em on our trip just to keep the hot sun from boiling the head.

I like them, a great place to rest your arm
while you listen to some riding buddy regale you
of some boring story for the eleventy seventh time

Or you could put a beer on one,

Cut a slot and you have a cigar holder

How about a burger holder you could put
your beer on one, and burger on the other
while having lunch, no more smuges on the tour
    pack lid.

Even better, they could be stripper stands
pick up a stripper and have her dancing
    on them,

    Lotsa opportunities

    and they are USA Made...

Turn um upside down and mount below the bags and they
    are wheelie guards!.

Used to set my helmet down on the ground to cover
in shade, then I noticed the number of people/things
that whizz on the ground anywhere (bums, drunks, animals)
as well as the stuff that comes off cars, trucks, garbage trucks etc.
that pretty much ended that trend for me.

Then went to putting it on the shifter side, if you
put one on a brake pedal on a hot bike and it shifts
you can melt the helmet, so that's not good

Hung it on the bars, but they fill up nicely when
a surprise rain storm pops up...

Seats are ok, used to put over the speedo on the tank
but that was with the heritage, your choices are limited.

Lotta helmets would get stolen here at bikeweek,
    kids, drunks, thieves....

So now I have a locking tour pack, perfect.. LOL
