One o my favorite things to do other than riding is BBQ. I am pretty much self taught, may not have the best equipment, Yet, but I can turn out some really good BBQ. my specialty bring spare ribs and Boston Butts. Here in the recent past, I have been making food and just giving it out so I can gauge people's like or dislike for my food. I must say, the reaction I have. been getting is very pleasing. I have been contemplating starting a business in BBQ. Not really sure if I want it to be a catering type thing or what. Just thoughts for now.

Florida may offer too many distractions for me, however, that is the state that is on my wife's radar.

Just don't move to Cal. They have way to many restrictions and wouldn't surprise me if you have to put a catalytic converter on the BBQ.

It can happen, you'd want good backing and funding, DIY is very expensive
and you need cash to get through the start up period.

This guy was doing smoking for friends and for church gatherings
and to help people that needed food, his brisket is to die for, I even thought
about applying as an apprentice to learn how they do it...

Finally decided to take the plunge, several years later with proper
financial backing they have several store and are opening other.

the big issue with BBQ is the regionality of the type of BBQ and
sauces, from Tomato based, vinegar, and even bama white sauce

then you have the Pork vs beef bbq

Franklin BBQ in austin is another big success...

Had a BBQ party Friday night

10 Pound Boston butt, seasoned and sat overnight in Fridge

On the smoker after 4 hours of smoke at 140 using Hickory

In the Pan Ready to pull and it was ready, mmmmm

Howsabout some Ribs, Smoked corn bread in iron skillet and smoked baked beans...

Here's a brisket tip, didn't have a butchers cut just on the smoker

Food industry is a very competitive business.
We have one here in Oregon called Busters Texas BBQ. Owner, Dave came here from Texas and with his BBQ style, special recipes and his own line of BBQ sauce has done quit well and has 3 locations here now. Greta place.
It can be done but yea better know the restaurant business well.
