I'm about to install a Thunder slide Kit on stock CV carb. Stock heads, high flow air cleaner, V&H pipes, S/E 203 cams. What size main and slow jet would you use? I was thinking 46 slow- 200 main.

46 pilot is probably OK....200 main seems big for stock heads,180-190 ,what size engine,88" or 95" or is it an Evo???
A little more info would help:)

    Thanks Buddy,
The bike has stock heads and is 88 twin cam. Carb was updated with 190 main jet and 44 slow jet. I might just change the jets and leave the slide alone because it seems that the more I read about the Thunder Slide comments the more I'm starting to doubt the kits performance.

I'll go with 46 slow and 195 main and see how it pulls. The 203 should stay with it up around 5k. I put a couple in twin cams with E F I and they pulled real good down low and up high. This is the first install of a CV.

Start at the idle mixture....screw should be between 2 to3 turns out from gently seated for best idle...less than 2 turns pilot is too small, more than 3 turns it's too big...your needle covers from 1/4-3/4 throttle and may need to be shimmed or changed (CVP velocity needle, or CVP N65C needle)...195 main is stock on HD International models and should be good, lower 48 comes with a 190 main( stock is 45 pilot)....
To test the main jet,go to a closed course;) wouldn't want you breaking the law:D....Ride it at WOT then back off the throttle 1/8...if the bike speeds up or surges, main is too small,if it loads up main is too big....if it just backs off and slows down you're good on the main...Good luck, keep us posted:D
