I want to change my exhaust from the Rush Slip ons to True Dual Exhaust.
I want to give my bike a more olde school look. Additionally I want a louder and more throaty sound, but I don't want to sacrifice power. I got online to the Harley Exhaust site and they recommend for the Softails, the Mamba Python or the Samson True Duallys. I personally like Vance and Hines pipes, especially because I don't have to worry about bluing of the pipes. However the mentioned website didn't mention Vance and Hines. I want the 33 in pipes with the fish tails. My questions are:
    (1) What are the pros & cons of the fish tail end caps that extend beyond the bumper as compared with those that end at the front of the bumper. Also, I have saddlebags.
    (2) Which brand do most of you prefer and why? Samson or Vance & Hines
    (3) Will I need to buy a Power Commander?
    (4) If I go with the 33 in. pipes, will there be a problem securing them to the bike? I noticed on the Road King, there appears to be a bracket under the hard saddlebags.

    Thanks

Softails and bagger exhaust are not interchangeable.

    Different mounts

To run true duals you have to add the mounting screws in the frame behind and under the floorboard (passenger) should be some black inserts that have to come out and then you install two screws.

Here are the V&H True Duals

V & H have a true dual exhaust system. I installed them on a friends bike last year. Have you changed the air filter system yet? If so you should think about some kind of tuner.

I put a set of those V&H Fishtails on my 01 Springer. They are definitely loud.

Did you have any other modes on the 01 re tuner/fuel pac to adjust for the true duals?
