59Panhead. I moved to Richland Wa. From Sacramento Ca. I have a 86 fxrs that's mostly a 90-94. The only thing thats 86 is the title and the rear brakes only because of the mount on the frame. A 06 Road glide I bought so I could ride the ol lady around and my dads 78 shovel flhp that needs a LOT of love.

Sweet lookin ride sportsterboy. Thanks for the comeback. Mostly I need a online parts dealer. I do a bunch of my own work, I leave the motor and transmission work to somebody that knows what they are doing. They can make it run faster and better than I. Don't get me wrong I'd love to start building motors, but I know mistakes can cost a LOT of money.

Working on motors is very enjoyable and can become a obsession easily:rolleyes: if you have the time and place. To get started I would highly recommend a service manual and pick a fairly standard project like a cam change, or even a big bore kit. Don’t start with a project that you heard of from buddy who knew a guy that heard of a guy that saw a bike at a rally that this had been done to. And when you are planning your project be sure to utilize your new connection (Bike Talk Form) because there is a wealth of information here that could help you to choose things like cams, carbs, tuners etc. there is also the experience of others that could help avoid a costly mistake and tell you “DON’T DO THAT!!! IT DOESN’T WORK”:gah: before you start on the project that your buddy heard about. As you get comfortable with wrenching you will start to learn about your motor and want more. The tuning is a lot harder to learn but you can’t learn it until you start. And the members of this form can help guide you.:D

yeah that is the correct nomenclature for the propulsion units.

    Motors are electric
    Engines are Gas/Diesel/fuel based

However you still see folks saying motor
even on NASCAR TEEVEE you see crew chiefs saying motor..

Just one of the things that has happened over time..

I guess with hybrids we have engines and motors LOL
