Air cleaner

    with the chrome cover i have covering my arlen ness big sucker II, the top of the filter shows a little. (about 3" long x half " wide) chose this h/d cover cuz i heard that some covers possibly rub on gas tank, anyway, do i have to worry about the section of air filter thats showing getting wet either from rain or when washing??? i drive a 2006 h/d lowrider fxdli. thanks in advance!! bill

    i wouldnt worry about it in the rain, but i wouldnt stay on it with hi pressure water pressure when cleaning............:)

    thanks chuck ! yea, i never use a high press. cleaner on the bike, only a garden hose and nothing stronger than a fine mist to a sprinkle !! bill

    Next time you're in a hotel, don't put the shower cap on ...Take It!!:roflmao: then you can put it over your breather when you wash it.;)

    they work ok. they are a bit more exposed, but ya dont normally have a blower or turbo gulping air. your leg is normally resting near the front of the aircleaner blocking a lot of the rain. also, if it is raining that hard most people are not haulin butt. ya taking it easy or hunting cover.:)

    Just washing it would be the only time any ammount of water could get in your intake,thats not much of the air filter exposed,like chuck said your leg will block most of the rain,and you do slow down a bit when its raining.
    Just a put a plastic bag or shower cap over it when you wash it and it'll be fine.
