I have a 2004 E Glide Standard...it has the factory alarm installed as I got it through AAFES while in Germany (which made it mandatory for us). Well, took the bike in for the 10K service and all was working great. NOW, everything is still "working", but when I start the bike, the alarm indicator (the little red key) stays solidly lit for up to 5 seconds after the bike is running. Is this something I should be concerned about? Do I need to take it back to the shop to have a "code" thingy done? It was not doing this before the service.....so am a bit confused....alarm still arms and dis-arms. bike starts without difficutly....just a bit troubling to have the extra light on....thanks!

    My alarm is different

On my 03 Road King Classis also fitted with a factory alarm the light is up for 5 secs while ignition is turned on only. Once the bike starts the light 'solid red key' is out. Hope this helps?

My main concern is that I had not noticed it in the first 10K......I won't say that it is acting differently (like a new problem), but the fact that I had never noticed it before had me concerned. I may ask the shop next time I ride past....just to ease my mind.

    AFNurse,

If you didn;t notice it before chances are it wasn't lit. Take it back and ask the service manager what's up with it. All "factory trained tech's" aren't the same. I won't get into what I found after a service on my Ultra.

Mine stays on for about 5 seconds after the ignition is turned to on (whether I start it or not). I think this is okay.
