Amber Alerts

Anybody ever git Amber Alerts on their phone.

I was asleep today.

Phone started beeping a amber alert on and off.
It was one of the amber emergency alerts .
It was 100 miles from me.
Woke me up out of a Dead Sleep.
I called AT&T and said why did I get this.
Was told she gits them from now & then.
I said wrong answer.
If you can't stop them I can.
We can turn my phones off.
She said wait a minute.
Asked which phone do you have.
I got a iPhone.
She looked up on the computer and said.

Go to yer settings app.
Go to Notifications
Then go o the bottom to Goverment Alerts
Turn both the amber alert & weather alert off.
I did & said Thank You.

Talk about invasion of privacy...They have some nerve...

I am 5 counties from where it happened. I am about 7 miles in the country from town.
Down a farm road,
It went off on my wife's iPhone . People was running or the doors exiting the building.
Her boss wasn't a happy camper . She works on.floor for. Oil company with a lot of cublicles and offices.
I told her how to turn the alert off,.

I agree that it is a service that should have had to be turned on by the phone owner, but I don't agree that it is a waste to have someone notified within a hundred miles or more away. That is less than 2 hours on those roads. Much less in a lot of places, especially when some pedophile is in a hurry.

You turned it off. Enough said.

All they can do is go by your area code and assume your in the area where the kid was abducted. AND you were able to shut the alerts off. sorry, but you lose on this one bro. JMO

Yeah, I think it's a very good service. One can always disable it if one wishes to. I don't have it on my cell.

I had the ringer turned off buddy.
Still raised hell.

I like Chucktx like to be left alone,
I am not in the Houston area.

My sister in law drinks it.
Thinks if I go to her house and its all there is to drink that I will drink it.

She invited her brother to come from Albq and sty for a week.
She bought everything like shiner bock and ll. no Budweiser.
I would go down bout 10 minutes.

There is no beer here out of 3 cases that I drink and yer sister knows it, and he said go down and see mark.
