Bought my new harley July 29 love it. The pipes from the factory were so quiet it didn't sound like a Harley. I wanted something a little louder. Received my new pipes from american custom just right deep growl but not to loud. They claim the pipes have been made to give back pressure without baffles. I just wanted to get your alls opinion on this. Any help appreciated.

There must be some sort of restriction inside so that it creates some back pressure. Straight pipes loose power.

Here is a link to those pipes to show how they work.

What they do is take factory Harley exhaust take a plasma cutter and redo the inside. They also told me it is set up to work with or without baffles and still keep the right back pressure. If you want to see it go to there site [url=http://www.americancustom.com they have videos and sound clips on there site.

Just looking at it wont help. The pipes are stock on the outside. The install took me around a half hour it was very easy.

just take a pic put it on your PC and when you post use the Go Advanced button, you'll see a button for Manage Attachments, click it and follow the instructions it will load it up here for you...

You will see a pop up window
select browse, find the image on your PC
you can add several small ones.

    then click upload
and then close that window when the upload is done
    then post..

I also bought a set of the American Custom mufflers for my sportster. The bike had drag pipes on it when I bought it and read here about performance issues and it was just too loud to boot. I didn't want to wake the neighborhood on them 6am startups  I bought the medium baffle to go with it just in case it was too loud. I tried both and liked it real well without the baffle. Has a nice deep tone without the window rattle. I've not had many to compare to but I'd give it a thumbs up.

I put the V&H Monster Ovals on my 09 Ultra and they sound good to. Not loud but when you get on it they sound good. I would be interested to hear those pipes you installed. Bet they were cheaper that the Monster Ovals were.
