If i install the 26g cams on my 02'FLHTC will i have to go with adjustable push rods or can i keep the stock ones in?

You could but why would you want to? To keep the stockers you have yank the tank and rocker boxes then reassemble. By the time you get that done the adjustable pushrods look pretty cost effective.

If your not doing any more then cams might want to think about the 21's. More bottom end right were you ride 2~4k range, higher CCP with stock heads...

Check your crank runout before you buy anything if more then .002 I would stick with the chain drives.

    Cams

cams are sometimes used incorrectly GIVING the OPPOSITE EFFECT....

I remember "words" from a shop owner on a LATE NIGHT call thinking to leave HIM a msg.on the recorder and MAYBE ? sometime getting back an answer........

I wondered what to use in my 95 sport 888 to 1200 conversion????? surprising enough the late call was ANSWERED by the OWNER.

I told him what I was after & ***tired of being called a "sissy girls bike"......
    wanting LOW END TORQUE

I had already bot wiesco pistons 10.5/1 and COULD NOT use HIS modified heads with them SOoooo Should I buy NEW pistons?
"NO" HE SAID here is what to do.....

Bore or buy 1200barrels (BUY) Scrm'eagle air and put on some FREER Exhaust PRE Jet carb(gave me starting sizes) & use a 1200 sport needle. **use the 883 heads just freshen them up

then I asked him "what cams to use"......

HE YELLED........ THERE YOU GO AGAIN!!!! WANTING LOW END TORQUE THEN WANTING TO CAM IT RIGHT BACK OUT!!!!!

"PUT it together the way I just said" THEN
"FIND A TALL POLE AND CLIMB IT AND THEN GIVE ME A CALL BACK"

I did just that (not the tall pole)

I called HIM back and thanked him & saying "I HAD TO HOLD ON WITH BOTH HAND "

OH i forgot to mention HIS name and shop JERRY BRANCH (HEADS)

I found him to be really informative and NOT after my $$$$$$ like so many other shops are.....and answering the phone after hours?????? we talked for 45 min. or so....

really a FINE man and TOPS in his field..

    signed....REDHEAD :D

Well there is a diff in getting power out of the 883 by doing the 1200 conversion and simply doing a cam swap in a big twin. You just increased the total size of the motor and thats going to increase the base line on a big twin just swap cyl and pistons for a 95 over a 88 but that's TC stuff. Not that simple on an EVO.

You can get low end tq with just a cam swap, it just has to be the correct swap.

IMHO I would not use the Andrews 21 or 27 I would go with the Woods w-6 cam, same 510 life but better cam profile and much more TQ lower down, woods signature is more TQ on the street profiles.

You could pull the heads and pop in a bit thinner head gasket (Cometic) to increase compression which helps, but that wasnt the questions.

Yes you can keep stock pushrods as long as your new cams have the same basecircle as the stock, the ev27 and 21 or woods 6 will let you do that.
