1/1/2014, 27 degrees, wife away with her parents, snow storm coming tomorrow, time to ride! First ride of 2014. Thank God for heated gear. Charity run for children that gave cancer to attend camps spoons ore by local radio. Full Throttle Magazine and local HD dealer. Froze my toes doing a little more than 100 miles. Final count not in but there must of been close to a thousand bikes. The Long Island Expressway was closed got us and it looked like 3 miles of bikes.

You could've never done it without the heated gear - I wouldn't have tried even with it! Hard core bikers up there, for sure, and riding for a great cause gives you guys the incentive to endure those cold temps. You earned your patch that day.

That's a lot of crazy bikers. But for a good cause for sure. I've got heated jacket and gloves but my feet and knees still get froze.

My heated gloves barely got it done the heated jacket liner did good under my leather jacket. My lined Harley chaps did good with micro fleece long johns under jeans my micro fleece socks with wool over socks in my harness boots let me down with numb toes at about 90 miles. 3/4 helmet and a fleece neck tube over nose worked too.

I hate winter riding I always feel like the Pillsbury Dough Boy with so many cloths on. Heated gear is the only way to go in that kind of weather and temps. I love my heated seat, grips and heated liner. Had a girl in our chapter tell me one time to wear Panty Hose under your jeans, just can't get myself to do that one. Been tempted to wear battery heated soaks though.

The older I get the better I like the heated gear. :)

Yep Broadway Joe wore them in an ad. BTW, he was and is a really nice guy. I used to see him when the Jets practiced at Hofstra University. I used to take time from work and fence hang and he'd come over a talk with me and my partner. He was a pretty cool fella. I new a few bikers in the 70's that wore panty hose under their jeans to keep their legs warm.

Well, now they have Lycra/Spandex to wear underneath, like bicycle riders wear in plain sight, but I wouldn't be caught dead or alive wearin' them either LOL.

What were we talking about, oh yea the Cold Run. I missed our Polar Bear ride yesterday. Temps were to warm yesterday to wear any Panty Hose or do they call them Manty Hose
