Well, last night a friend of mine had some lady pull out in front of him and stop so he tried to lay the bike down instead of t-boning her. Details are a little sketchy but (i think) he hit a 4x4 mailbox post with his body and sheared it off. broken pelvis in 3 places, tailbone, 13 & 14 vertabrae, 1 toe and dislocated shoulder. BUT, he is alive and doing Ok. He was in the trauma center last night. I think he is in a room now, we'll see. I will probably go visit him real soon. Freakin people just don't look for us.....Damn...

Dang I hate to hear that happen.

Was at a Indy shop last week complainin about somebody pulling out in from of me.

I was on the way home and a Blonde headed lady with a metal Handicaped sign on her car pulled out of a parkin lot right into the lane where I was at. I just about got T-Boned myself.

I got so upset I wanted to open her door at the redlight and drag her out of the car and take her keys.

But I sucked it up and just went home.:banghead::banghead::banghead::witsend::rant::gah::angry:

Thanks for all of the good wishes for him. He sent me a picture of himself in the hospital...surprisingly he doesn't look bad, he actually had a smile on his face. It looked like he was giving me the thumbs up, but I think it was the morphine drip button.....:) Anyway, no idea if he will walk or if that's even been a concern at this point. He is in good spirits but says he's done with bikes....I will keep everyone updated, thx again,

Un-believable how stupid some people are and still manage to get driver's licenses.

I am truly sorry for your friend man. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. I am sure he needs support from his buds. Try to visit him as often as you can and tell him he has folks across the country praying for him.

I can't imagine giving up riding. I am positive that would be a life altering experience. I don't know if I would be able to square my melon away to be safe on two again after that either. I pray none of the rest of us ever have to make that call.

About this time last year I had a friend go down. T-boned a pickup behind the cab. Flew over it with his wife and landed on the road. He was busted up REAL Bad and died a few times while in the hospital. He just went back to work about 3 weeks ago. His pelvis was busted up as well (landed flat of his rear on the blacktop). So recovery is very possible, but it will be a long road. My friend is back on a scooter, he bought it LONG before he was even able to walk again. I told him he probably wouldn't have gotten hurt at all if he had landed on that hard head of his instead of his rear. He seems to be back to normal (well as normal as he ever was) now. I pray your friend recovers as well as mine.

    Glad hes alive in recovery.

I had a guy do the same to me a week ago, it was night but lit streets 4 lane local road

I was leaving a light, traffic behind and beside me so I scooted up , about 1/8 of a mile is a crossover that everyone hustles to get into due to traffic. I see this 4 dr dodge pickup coming from my left as I approach, he bolts for the center, and I figure this guys going on through, I"m in the far left lane....

He stops as I approach and then rolls right out in front of me. Never hit the horn, I just cranked it over to the right, jammed the throttle and rolled past just missing him... friggin moron. He would slow down everytime I slowed so I never got the chance to thank him properly....

    You never know...

I had a young blond girl run a red light today and make a right turn into my lane as I was in the middle of the intersection. Had to come to a sudden stop and I wanted to break her neck. She looks at me like well what do you want. :banghead::cussing::angry:

Damn, I'm sorry to hear your friend's been so hurt. I've recovered from some terrible injuries myself, so I know that even the most difficult accidents can heal tolerably well.
I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

I was going slowly in the left lane toward a red light today with about 5 car lengths between me and the stopped car. The car behind me goes around me to my right and then turns left, right in front of me, cutting me right off. I drove by him and said "y'now, that's really a dangerous thing to do", not running off at him or being threatening and he gave me attitude about going too slow. I said "what's the point of racing to a red light" and he called me an *******. I told him I'll pull over to the side (on the right of the road, where cars park if he'd like to "discuss" it further and he made a left, cursing me all along. Bad enough when they "didn't see you", but screwing around for no reason but impatience is asinine. Hope instant karma gets that fu*ker.

Friend of mine got nailed by a semi-truck couple months ago. Busted him up pretty good. totaled the bike (Fatboy). He went out when he could walk again and bought a new Harley Trike.

Glad of the survival! Sorry to hear of the accident in the first place! Fractured pelvis....I will guaren-damn-tee that he will need friends like you around....if it isn't so busted up that REQUIRES surgery to plate back together, he will be up and attempting to walk in the next few days/week or so.....THAT is no joke and pain is terrible in most cases. Friends are the best support.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. We all (should) ride with the knowledge that we are likely to get taken down by a clueless cager at some time.

Just thinking - ya think Obama would lift all helmet law requirements if his "health" care bill passed, eh?
