I did a search but found no answers. I would like tp put a useful gauge in place of the air temp gauge. I wanted to install an oil temp gauge but the dealer said the sending unit attachs at the same point as the pressure gauge. So no dice as I want the pressure gauge. So is there another place to install a sending unit for an oil temp gauge (I know there is one to replace the dip stick, but don't want that) or is there a way to make the existing air temp gauge accurate, by relocating the sensor?? It is useless.

    Thanks

    Dino

There is an aftermarket one that has its sending unit screw into the oil pan. I can't remember the name of the creator of the product...its something like Roger McEwan or something. I do know they sell them at http://www.wallyscycleworld.com/virtualshop/OT.asp. CD may sell them here at direct parts as well, but I did a search for oil temp gauges and didn't see it among the results. I plan to install one this winter if I get around to it.

CCI sells them as part number 640388 and they are available. I wonder if Wally's price is accurate as the list is $117.00. Give us a call as these are not on line yet.

This product was recently brought up in a thread at the v-twin forum and several members there claimed to have bought them from wallys....It was one of those members who provided the link.

The guage is supposed to be well made, and people who've had them installed, have had no problems with the quality as far as I've heard.

ok, here is what i am doing to my 06 electraglide. i to want to install an oil temp gauge. i feel the prices i have found to be rather high. i went to my local napa dealer and found oil temp gauges made by vdo for 35 bucks including sender. they are blackface just like my other gauges in the dash. in checking, i see that the dealers use a "T" at the oil idiot light sender to install the temp sender. piece of cake with enough left over for some pretty bling/bling!!!!!
