    Then as you know in order to make it function you need an antenna. There are antenna systems that you can install in the fairing that hides it, but they don't work as well, I've heard.

    I moved mine up and forward so it runs allongside the backrest bracket. a littlr less noticable and clears(in front of) my luggage rack and roll on lugage (when I mount them) That came later than this pic.

    Well it's like this, if you got a radio why ask if you need an antenna? So you get the same kind of question. :rolleyes:

    Yup. The whole exchange struck me as funny. Antennas are finiky things - I've heard they need to be "matched" to your particular radio for best results.

    I was meaning on the back fender. It completely escaped me to think of inside the fairing. :D

    Heck mine has two antenas............ And everybody tells me they make some I can hide.
    The antenas don't bother me.
    I ain't tryin to win no show.
    Want a functional bike I can git out with the OL and go ride and be comfortable.
    Another reason I got a Shoei Qwest helmet. Gonna git Bluetooth and make the radio so it will turn the sound into bluetooth and I can listen to it in the helmet.

    The whole seen of folks buildin bikes and the clean lines and all really don't sell bikes.
    Look where all of them has wound up at. Gone down the tubes.
    American Iron Horse, Big Dog and all.
    What has sold the most bikes. Baggers.
    Baggers are the most functional and best ridin bikes out there.

    Hot rods are short lived bikes.

    It would have helped if JB would have explained it better :rolleyes: Instead of does it need an Antenna. Sheesh, yea got a radio, needs an antenna to make it work. Could even have one tucked down under the saddle bags.

    He's learnin man. This is his first Bagger.
    Baggers are made for Stylin and crusing down the hiway.
    Too many folks want a race bike out of em.
    Can't slow down and do any stylin if yer bustin down the hiway like a drag bike.

    Guess that's why so many folks call em Old Mans bike.
    We ain't in a Hurry to git nowhere.
    Hard to explain things to Kids when they already know more than you do.
    Hell we've never done it, and they can do it better and know how to do it better.

    probably has a hidden antenna under the fairing.

    I'd advise that you get a Service Manual so you know
    how to properly remove the outer fairing and how to
    install the fairing back properly, change headlight bulbs

    If you are not careful you can strip the holes
    easy on the outer fairing with the 6 screws

    If the radio works it's got a hidden antenna
    Bet if you pull the lseat off you find a curled up antenna
    cord, just leave it (or under a side cover)

    I would simple start by pushing the button on for the radio, just might work.:rolleyes: If not it probably will need an antenna.
