Any truth to this

when i used to work on cars the big thing was a high output oil pump. then one day i read an article which claimed that high oil pressure wasn't good due to a condition called "bearing wash". they claimed that this was due to the oil being moved through bearing surface so fast it's not able to lubicate and thus "washes" out the bearing surface. so , anybody ever heard this

Yah, have heard that to some extent, Back when I was in tech school I had an instructor that said a engine will run with 3lb of oil pressure, he swears that is all you would ever need although we never tried it, he said high pressure was hard on the bearings and would eventually cause them to start pitting and I would also assume seals and gaskets. Now Hi volume is a different story, That is alright, UNLESS you go flat out wide open for an extended period of time you could pump all the oil to the top of the motor and it would suck it up faster than it could drain pack down to sump, in that case it would be a wise investment in a larger oil pan and maybe smmoth up or drill out your drains back to sump

Is that like bearing skate??? Sounds the same... Not sure about that...

i don't believe bearing skate is related to pressure, has to due with slipperness of syn. oil not allowing roller type bearings to spin. in my opion bearing skate has been pretty much disproved. back when i heard of bearing wash(70's) every thing was good old fashion friction type bearings.

Had a 2002,,, put hi output pump on it,,, ran for 50,000,, never had a problem
