Well...Ours are 20 years old...Microwave took a dump Tuesday evening and the refrigerator/freezer on Thursday...Can't say they owe me anything but I just hate to have to and go buy new ones...But if it had to happen I'm glad that it was this week as there are plenty of great sales...Jacque just got back from PC Richard & Son which is a good size chain back here and picked out the replacements that they will deliver and install on Tuesday...

We have all GE appliances but ended up getting a Frigidare DGHT1844PF refrigerator/freezer $699.97 and a Frigidare FGMV174KF microwave $278.97 which was a good deal for us...Includes delivery, installation and disposing of the old appliances...I have no complaints with GE...Never had one problem in 20 years which is why I do not believe in that extended warranty bull ****...

Jacque is happy...Now I do not want to hear any **** if I want to do anything to the bike...And no, the kitchen will not get redone...I do not care if everything does not match...It is functional and that is what counts...

Function over form wins out every time in this ol' house, too. We have Gibson appliances in our home. Made in the deep south, USA.

I couldn't do with "Function over form" in my house. Too new. Not really sure if I would buy all new appliances if one went out, I may replace all of them...

I like Sears Refrig, freezers and other appliances. Had them my whole life and had good luck with them.

Our stuff is about 20 years old. The Maytag dishwasher soap dish don't open during washing anymore so we been just throwing in the soap and close the door then hit start. Still cleans pretty good. Going to put a new floor in the kitchen, a tile floor so we went down and bought a new dishwasher that was on sale. I think its a Frigidaire but its got a black face. All the other stuff is white or almond. Long as it works its good. :D

Most of my tools are MAC Tools. Have a few older (30 plus years) craftsmen tools.

Our stove is a drop in electric Frigidaire, works great Frig is Amana and the new dishwasher is also a Frigidaire all top of the line. Microwave is a free standing one, Panasonic.
We don't have any gas available out in the country where we live so everything is electric. Just put in a new furnace and heat pump 4 years ago plus a new roof on the house and all new dble vinyl windows.

Most brands of appliances are made by just a couple of manufacturers. These days reliability is just luck.

There are cheaper appliances made by all of them. Many of the newer homes come with just a get you by type standard appliance. Builders buy them in bulk and many are not the best you can buy.

Are winters are much cooler than yours and we would go through a 5 gal bottle in less than a week. Besides ain't buying another furnace. I have a heat pump, works good.

"5 gal bottle". They have much larger bottles than that. One of my earlier houses had a 200 gal bottle just for hot water and stove.

Jeez, every morning the news covers 2 to 3 deadly house fires caused by space heaters. The price of heating oil is over $4.50 per gallon now which can be about $500 per month to heat and hot water a house this winter. So people are forced to do dangerous things to keep warm. The oil companies get richer and people are dying for it.
