Arctic Circle run

    Yesterday was my 60th birthday which caused me to wonder why I haven't made the ride to the Arctic Circle I've always wanted to make.
    So, next July if all goes as planned I will take three weeks and ride from Gardnerville, Nv to the Arctic Circle and back.
    I have plenty of time to plan and get my bike ready but it would be a lot easier if I had suggestions from others who have already made the run.
    I would like to take my current ride but don't know if the 21" front tire would work. I guess I could put on a 16" for a few weeks. I think other than that my 1998 wide glide is reliable enough for the journey.
    I need suggestions and ideas from anyone who has experience making the Alaska ride. I am used to spending long hours in the saddle and regularly ride 500-800 miles a day a couple of times each year.
