Years ago I had a 1990 FXRS sp. Loved that bike and put a pile of miles on it. I had to sell it, needed the money for mortgage payments etc. I found this one a couple of months ago, it's an 85 so when the snow clears I'll find out whether I remember the FXR's thru rose coloured glasses or were they really that good. I think it's the latter..sure hope so anyway. The old stuff is a lot simpler though. come on spring.

Is that like the one you had that you built the motor up a few years back and had when we road down to the Laughlin rally.

That bike was a Dyna. It was a pretty bike and pretty fast but the old FXRS did a lot better job of going around corners quickly. That Laughlin trip was fun.

Yea it was, I still remember all of us taking off on that long down hill straight that seemed to go for miles. You pulled ahead on your Harley and left the rest of us in the dust, pretty cool. Was a good time and long time ago.

Congrats on your purchase, looks real nice in the pics. Any plans for it other than make it safe and reliable?

Thanks .I'll have to clean it up some but for now the plan is to keep it as stock as possible and get some riding in on it. Not many of the 85's with the long suspension and twin disc up front around here. The 1990 I went with a bunch of mods and powder coated parts it was a nice bike. I can't bring myself to getting too crazy with this one..It's lasted 30 years this way, be kind of a shame to take it too far out of it's original configuration

Yeah, if the paint looks good, why change it? Unless it's some hideous color you can't stand LOL.
