I removed the baffles in my stock bikes mufflers...still have the stock crossover tube (06 883l)..the bike runs much better, as I knew it would...but I have heard things like not good,,, no back pressure....etc.. Checked the plugs they are fine. I always thought we wanted the exhaust to flow better..Seemed to work fine on my old shovel head...drag pipes with slip ons... Worked on other HD's I've had...Works on all my hot rods and older cars...even on my new stuff. So, can I have some engineering facts and opinions. Thanks...Just want to hear some science behind it.

Typically you get Bo increase in power doing that compared to putting on a good set of slip on mufflers

Generally you getmore noise but that's it. Some backpressure or scavenging of exhaust helps as it needs to pull burnt mix out while the intake opens

Look for a set of python or Khrome werks or cycle shack slip ons a good air filter and tune it.

When I first redid my Sportster I didn't want baffles in either because I wanted them to be as loud as I could be. (NOTE) My bike is highly modified. I found that after I did all of that work to the engine, I had no power. I put baffles in and it was WAY better. I was able to find baffles that pretty much gave me everything that I was looking for, Power, and sound.
