Naw that's the way ya do it, that sauce is from Starnes BBQ in Paducah KY
been around since the 50's it's vinegar based and black pepper has some kick
they serve it at the counter that way, and if you get them to go, in wax paper.

It's old school, and it's about the pork not the bread, course I didn't expect no
yankee and a west coaster to comprehend the proper bbq of the south - Pork... :smug:

Busters BBQ in Oregon, great BBQ and they to make their own sauce. Their brisket is fantastic as well as their pulled pork sandwiches on your choice of bread including Poboy style. Rib dinners are really good. You ever get in the Portland area check em out.

Raised on the smoky ribs and beef brisket of barbecue joints in Houston and San Antonio, Buster and his brother Steve learned a lot about dry-rubbed, slow-smoked meats and what separates the 'real deal' from pretenders. And they learned family recipes and their way around the kitchen from their father, who had quite the reputation for making people happy with great food and good times. So, years later after moving to the Portland area they introduced Oregon and southwest Washington to the authentic Texas barbecue they love and know so well. The story of Texas' loss and our great gastronomic gain is the stuff of legends…or at least a bit ofcowboy poetry.

Tried pulled pork sandwich for the first time a few years ago on Fla. vacation, now it is starting to show up at restaurants around here. I liked it. Looks like you need better bread though...

That pulled pork looked lame too. Just me, but I like the sauce mixed in with the pork once the pork gets pulled apart and then heated together. Yummy!!!! I will show you pictures of ribs as they are actually cooking!!!!

Well wadda you know Mr. Land of the Frozen panties :finger:

I don't mix sauce on the pork, not everyone likes hot, or mild or sweet, mustard, vinegar based
so I chop it up, put it in the storage container and you can sauce it up as much as you like. :cigar:

The right way, the southern way, gheez someone from MN telling us crazy crackers how to
do bbq would be like a florida fisherman giving lessons on how to ice fish....

Got home from work after a hard sweaty day, (no AC in the shop), and had barbecue made by the wife. Too bad it was just hotdogs. :( Wasn't pulled pork, but it was pulled from something...

This is how we "Northerners" like our BBQ, we make our own. MMMMMM!!!!!

The first thing we do is buy ourselves a GREAT CIGAR I happen to be partial to this one.

Once we "Northerners" properly prep the ribs or whatever meat it is that we will be cooking, we take that good cigar, fire it up, then we fire up the smoker and actually cook our own.

The trick is that we have to keep the heat as low as we can. I smoked the meat at 230* for 4.5 hours. Here is what they were looking like. Now these ribs are just beautiful. Tasted even better!!!

You need a traeger grill if you want to cook that meat properly. The upper rack looks burnt.
